Hello Gems, if you didn't know I love seventies fashion. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the fact Im a 70's baby but the 70's was a good time for fashion and It seems like some of the trends from the era just don't seem to be going out of style.
It's been a while since I've owned a pair of bell bottom pants so when I peeped this pattern from Mccalls 8007 I had to snatch it up. It's a hi-waisted bell bottom pant with seam detailing and large front pockets. Very retro!!! I love it and had to have a pair for my Fall capsule wardrobe.
A pair of denim jeans is an essential piece for a Fall wardrobe not matter what style. I find that a slight flare can be great for curvier figures such as my own. The exaggerated version like the ones we have here are fun but can make you a little stumpy but the hi-waist on this pants comes through and elongates your frame. So with that being said I absolutely love this pattern.
I did make a couple provisions when moving forward with this pattern, I used dark denim that I had in my stash and didn't have a continuous piece so I decided to attach the Bell Bottom to the leg at a seam instead of one continuous piece. I left the hem of the pants raw and unfinished because I love the look of the frayed edges. I decided to skip on the pockets for this make I felt the large pockets would draw attention to places I didn't want to draw attention. However, I have done the page pocket like this before on a skirt and I absolutely loved it. So, next make I think I will try out the pockets!
I was feeling the whole 70's vibe so I paired my pants with a animal print body suit which is another make from my Fall capsule wardrobe. Threw on some chunky animal print platforms and one my Keechii belt bags. This look is a whole mood "Can you dig it?" 😂✌🏽
Thanks for reading! Until next time!
